Job Description

As a Hockeystick.co full-stack engineer, you'll touch all of our systems: server-side APIs, databases, and front-end apps. As a Rails developer you’ll work on essential core components of our platform that are built using Ruby on Rails with high availability, high security, and reliable performance requirements.

Experience:

1. Proven experience in developing, deploying and maintaining complex Rails projects greater than 3 years

2. You already worked on and with APIs (consuming and emitting), and integrations of third party services (OAuth, Quickbooks, AngelList)

3. Ability to understand, display and even export data in common formats (CSV, XLS, PDF)

4. Meticulous knowledge of CSS 3, HTML 5 and Javascript (React a plus)

5. Familiarity with the common Ruby Gems and the Rails ecosystem

6. Expertise with SQL and PostgreSQL in production environments

Data Engineer

Job Description

As a Hockeystick.co data engineer, you'll touch our core systems: BI microservices, ETL jobs, and third-party integrations so expect some DevOps in the mix. We're a small team that’s growing fast and we’re looking for dedicated, smart engineers with experience and a passion for data privacy and security.

We are building an innovative data platform and toolset to make private capital markets more efficient. We work with PE firms, VCs, lenders and governments as well as 10,000 private businesses. 2017 is a year of huge growth for Hockeystick and we're looking for a one-of-a-kind product manager with deep experience building financial data products.

You are an entrepreneur at heart who wants to help build products that change the world. You're looking to join a startup that's found product-market fit and is ready to take the next step. You're hands-on and able to do it all yourself if necessary. But you want to grow and lead a team that will set the product vision for the company.

We're based in Toronto but it's ok if you're not.


Project Manager

Project Management, Finance, Requirements Analysis


Job Description

Hockeystick is expanding both the number of clients and the complexity of our solutions. We're looking for a Project Manager who can understand our FinTech product, understand our clients, and can manage complex customer rollouts and custom projects.

Experience:

1. You are a unique individual who has the skills of a project manager, an aptitude for finance and a passion for startups.

2. You have worked as a project manager for custom software development or Web development.

3. You can independently gather requirements from clients and turn them into detailed specifications.

4. You can produce detailed project plans and work with both internal teams and clients to successfully deliver projects.

5. You have an innate desire to make clients happy but you're strong enough to push back when it benefits the project.

Requirements

Applicants will be required to take a practical test and be able to speak in detail about past projects, both successes and failures.

If you have experience in finance, accounting, software development, QA or technical writing we'll consider it a huge bonus.

Most importantly, we want you to fit into a culture which values hard work (sometimes long hours), solving difficult problems and teamwork.
